The hunt to find the perfect linen blazer was definitely a struggle. It’s one of those pieces you just want to get right, you know? I wanted it to be my go-to spring and summer throw on jacket that I could wear in and out of the office. So it had to check a lot of boxes. I first started out with the ASOS relaxed linen blazer. I scored this on an amazing deal, I think I paid $65 for it? It was so cute, the color was spot on, but it was just too big. A little too boyfriend style on me. I knew I needed something with a little more structure... so that week I ordered three more.
I knew I wanted to try this Mango beauty that I’ve had my eye on for months, but it’s always been sold out of my size. This was a wool style, so a little heavier, but the color was so good and I knew I could get wear out of it during fall and winter too. Then I headed to Topshop. There was a light linen blazer there I had my eyes on, so I threw it in the basket along with this new number at Topshop. I really loved the color of this one. Since it’s on the more beige-y tan side, I knew I could get more wear out of it during fall too.
A week later and they all arrived. The Mango one was an absolute dream of a material, but it was just too big on me. Would 100% recommend if you’re not on the petite side though. There were definitely tears shed when I realized it just didn’t fit right. The first Topshop piece was on the lighter side and had some weird lapel thing going on, so had to say no. The next one checked all my boxes. Structured, but not too much, easy to throw on to wear into the office, or chuck it on during the weekend when there’s a little breeze. I just dropped it off at the tailors this week, so I should have it back Wednesday. Can’t wait to start wearing asap.
