I’m all about making sure my mornings are calm and stress free, so routines really do it for me. I keep all my morning essentials: skincare, makeup & toothbrush, in my top drawer so finding what I need is worry-free when I’m getting ready at 5am. For skincare, I like splashing my face with water first thing in the morning then spritzing a vitamin c mist all over, the one I’m currently using is from Lumene. Then I go in with my serum, I’m currently using the Summer Fridays CC Serum, this one helps brighten my skin in the morning, it has a milky texture that quickly soaks into the skin. I’m been loving using this Elemis Marine Cream overtop. So glad I finally pulled the trigger on this brand, the hype is real on everything I’ve tried so far. Last but not least I throw a sunscreen overtop, I’m currently using the City Sunscreen Serum from Supergoop. I originally bought this for my husband but ended up stealing it because it’s really light and easily slides over my moisturizer.

My Morning Skincare Routine
After having one of those weekends where I just didn’t feel like wearing makeup, I took time to appreciate my morning skincare routine. I’ve really honed it on what my skin needs to feel good in the morning, and these three skincare items are checking all the boxes.
Most mornings I don’t wash my face (unless I’m feeling especially oily), I just spritz my face with a hydrating mist to wake my skin up. I’m currently using one by Pearlessence, the rose hydrating face mist, but I also really like the Mario Badescu rose water mist, both leave my skin feeling refreshed and prepped for moisturizer. Next I go in with my moisturizer by Replenix, such a great moisturizing base that doubles as an SPF. I don’t like having a separate SPF cream, so I hunted this 2-1 moisturizer down after hearing rave reviews from the Skinny Confidential. I’ve been using it for 6+ months now and haven’t reached for anything else since. If I’m feeling a little dry (lately my skin has been a little drier with the weather change), I mix in a few drops of the Kora Organics oil for an extra punch of hydration. I like taking the time in the morning to assess my skin and give it what it needs, makes all the difference!
A New Favorite Liquid Lipstick
Remember when liquid lipsticks were all the rage 5 years ago? Well I’m back on the liquid lipstick train thanks to a new formulation my girlfriend gifted me for my birthday earlier this year. The Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink lipsticks have been my go-to for the past few weeks. I started with the shade seductdress which is a darker nude-y pink, and recently picked up a few lighter shades, in Poet and Loyalist which have been great nudes to go with pretty much any makeup look. Honestly, I haven’t found the need to pick up another lipstick in the last few weeks, these three have been all I‘ve needed! They last really well for long work days which is a major plus for me. I find that I only need reapply after lunch, and even if I don’t, it leaves a nice stain behind on the lips. From dark to light the shades I have are : Seductress, Poet and Loyalist. Poet and Loyalist are pretty similar on the lips, so I’d say to just pick up one of the two. Loyalist is a little more pink while Poet is a little more peachy pink. Would definitely recommend checking them out, they’re on sale at Ulta now too!
My Current Beauty Line Up: Cream Products
Bring on all the cream products! Something about summer always has me gravitating towards cream or water based products. Here’s the current round up!
The Loreal Infallible Pro Glow foundation has been a summer staple for years. The shade I use is in natural beige, it gives you the perfect summer glow and actually stays on throughout humid days. This is also the time for year I start reaching for my Chanel Soilel Le Tan Bronzer. I use a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply anywhere I would typically apply bronzer. It glides on beautifully, and gives you that golden bronze look. For blush I’ve been reaching for the Glossier Cloud Paint in shade Beam. It’s a gorgeous peachy coral that leaves a juicy glow on your cheek, what’s not to love! For eyes, I’ve been sticking with creams using the Laura Mercier Metallic Eye color in shade Rose Gold (no longer in stock, but similar to the Charlotte Tilbury one). I use a real techniques domed shadow brush to apply the color all over my lids, and then put a little bit below the lower lash line too. To top it off, I’ll take the Becca x Jaclyn Hill palette in shade Champagne Pop on the high points of my cheeks, then swipe a bit over my eyes to lock in that rose gold color.
To complete the eyes, I use a touch of Mac Teddy Liner on the top lash line, with the Loreal Lash Paradise Mascara. I’ve been keeping it easy for lips, using the Charlotte Tillbury Pillow Talk Liner to line and fill. This is a great “my lip color, but better” shade. It also pairs really well with pink and coral lipsticks for summer, so definitely my go-to liner as of late. What are some of your favorite summer products?
Peach Lipsticks That Scream Summer
It’s the start of summer and I can’t help but gravitate towards all the peachy toned lipsticks. There’s something about a light, bright peachy nude that gives me all the summer vibes. I’ve got a stash of three that I’ve been reaching for this past week. First being, the Christian Audette x Beauty Professor collab in shade Golightly. Rachel mentioned she was going for that Audrey Hepburn signature Breakfast at Tiffany’s shade, and she hit is spot on. I love how creamy and bright this lipstick is. Nars also does a great warm coral shade in Torres Del Paine. I got this in a set from NARS I picked up a few years back, I don’t think they sell this exact shade any longer but the shade Get Off looks similar, just a hint lighter.
If I’m in the mood for a balmy-er option, the Laqa & Co Lip Lube does a lovely minty balm that has great color payoff. Perfect for when I’m out all day and don’t want to worry about constantly touching up. The Bees Knees shade leaves behind a beautiful stain that last for hours.
Another peachy lipstick I’ve been eyeing is the CHARLOTTE TILBURY K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Bitch Perfect, looks like another beautiful light peachy nude - on my must try in-store list. What colors have you been gravitating towards with the start of summer?
